Seniors invited to Coffee with a Cop at Vernon Schubert Centre

I encourage all our seniors and especially my neighbours to go to this opportunity to connect with our local RCMP. Please bring your concerns, your questions, or simply come to better know who our RCMP are. These events are a great way for our local police to know our neighbourhoods, our residents and for residents to connect informally. I commend our Superintendent for regularly holding these sessions. Connecting with residents is important.

From the article:

“The seniors-focused event will be held at the Schubert Centre Feb. 22, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The community policing initiative aims to improve and strengthen police-public relations by providing an opportunity for the community to connect directly with police officers in an informal setting.

Seniors are invited to sit down, have a cup of coffee, and a one-on-one conversation with an officer from the local detachment.

“We’re buying the coffee; you bring the conversation,” says Supt. Shawna Baher.”
