Got to do a bumble relocation today. These bumbles weren’t able to stay as they were in the way of workers and were fairly aggressive as their nest was close to the opening workers came in at. Bumbles aren’t normally aggressive except in these odd cases. This was a very easy relocation. These bumbles found there way in through a hole meant for an extension cord used in winter, this will be foamed up until needed to be used. This could just as easily been mice or other creatures as well. Bumbles like to burrow in soft dry material in the ground but will take insulation any day. I don’t recommend relocation as a first option bumbles are only there until fall when the Queen goes off to burrow and hibernate. Love your pollinators.
